It's human nature to compare ourselves to other people. But what happens when the people you compare yourself to are your friends? Do you stop being friends with them? I used to compare myself to my friends although not often, the times when I did made me feel like shit about myself. But things changed because the friendship meant more to me than giving into my own insecurities.
