is your friend a bad friend if they aren’t supportive of your business?

A recent quote I saw on someone's instagram story sparked a thought in my head and I juuuust have to talk about it. The quote says "YOUR FRIENDS WON'T START SUPPORTING YOU UNTIL STRANGERS START CELEBRATING YOU". This is mostly felt by business owners who are starting out and feel like it would be nice if their friends show support by buying their products, or spread the word on Instagram, etc. BUT what if they don't? Does that mean they are a bad friend? Is that a red flag we should look out for in a friendship? Are they even your friend if they're not supportive??
